My wild prediction on no.1 overall

This might be in the wrong forum, feel free to move it if you want to..

It has nothing to do with the Vikings, but with the draft

My wild prediction to who is going to be selected number one overall in the 2008 NFL Draft

    Darren McFadden?, no
    Glenn Dorsey?, no
    Sedrick Ellis?, no
    Matt Ryan?, no
    Chris Long?, no
    Jake Long?, no

My pick is a guy who had 14 sacks his final year in college.

First he can a 4.67 40 yard time at the combine, with a nice 37 bench reps and a 35 ½ inch vertical..

Well yesterday he had his pro day

The 40 yard time got shaved down to 4,54 and had an unbelieveable vertical jump of 42 inches.

This guy is a true workout warrior if any, one of the most freakish players i have ever seen.

He fits the Dolphins 3-4 system to perfection, Parcells knows the importance of a player at his position from his time at Dallas.

    He is..

    Ohio States Vernon Gholston

I am not sure that I trust pro-days. Players always seem to do better at them and I wonder if things aren't set up to make them look better. Jumping 7inches higher seems a little rediculous.
But I'm sure he is a freak athlete, and could see him going number 1 overall.

There is no way to hide if he jumped high or not.
It's not like a 40. I suspect he lost some more weight and had some additional reps at jumping. His trainers probally had him focus on agility drills instead of training....Thats incredible....

They can make his initial reach shorter, that would make the jump bigger. But maybe they could get him to focus on drills but wouldn't he have done that before the combine alos? Did you have to do the bench press at his proday? If he was lighter it might have been tougher.

He only ran the dashes and jumped, didnt lift.

He improved in every drill other than the 10 yard dash. Were he was 0.01 of his combine time.

At first, I thought Jake Long would go first, but I have started to like Gholston more and more and now I'm not shure who's the best DE in the draft.
It's not much that seperates those two guys and we might just get two DEs draftet in the first and second pick of the draft (but that probably won't happen since those teams has bigger needs)

I think it could happen too.
I was already wowed by the combine.
    This kid is superfreak!
What is his reputation as far as work ethic and character???
Cuz, that might be the only thing keeping Chris Long ahead of him.
Too bad they both play RDE...I'd love to see either one a Viking.
Long might be big enough to play some LDE...?

IF NE was willing, and Chris Long was there at No.7
would you trade this and next year's No.1 pick to snag him?
Wonder if they'd bite on McKinnie and next year's first?
Hopefully, we'll be picking later next year anyway, and that would leave us No.17 to get an OT too...?

Miami wants to trade, but I don't think anyone wants to move up.
Costs too much in terms of picks and $$$$$ for No.1.
