His numbers are amazing.. Every single catergory
except yardage, which people will jizz their pants over.
Nobody cares if you have 110 QB rating and 2nd most TD's in the league with only two picks, if you don't top 4000 yards then you gotta do something damn good to get recognition in this league.

    Yah I spose

I think he will be in the running if he plays out
If the Vikings win the division and finish with 12+ wins, I think he'll certainly be at least runner up.

Pennington was runner up last year, not because of his big numbers, but because he helped turn the Dolphins season around.
Favre will be the same thing.

    Hell ya

And if plays on this level he'll have 3000+ yards.. 30+ TDs.. And not so many picks

Pretty good numbers and should have a good record

Hardly comparable taking a 10-6 division-winning team to two more wins vs. taking a 1-15 squad to 11-5 and a division winner.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Sort of a funny story... sort of having to do with that...

I was at the Yankees-Twins playoff game and I was wearing my Twins Cap. The fans weren't too bad actually, most of them just wanted to talk baseball.

It was funny though, most people yelling and taunting were saying stuff about Favre and "We'll see you week 17, if Favre isn't in a wheel chair by then"...

I responded to a few of the guys that it didn't matter, Tarvaris Jackson is undefeated against the Giants.

They didn't say much after that.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

yes, but we all know Favre gets things he doesn't deserve, pro bowl visits, phantom penalties, etc.
The name on his jersey alone is bound to generate at least a few votes.

People will be split on No.4 and No.28.
It will make it difficult to give a clear cut winner to a Viking.

League MVP is a BS award anyway.
    JMHO!
Every so often, there is a clear cut winner.
A lot of the times it seems more like popularity contest.
It is fun to talk about, but it only means something to the person that wins it, and maybe their fans.
Gives them something to hang their hat on.

Unless AD breaks the single season rushing record or something like that.
I think that if a QB wins, it will most likely be like the article says, Brees or Manning.
Why, that is who has been labeled to get it.
It is a lot of momentum.
Brees in fact is riding last years noteworthy season, that is why this starts out on the Marino record.
He has continued it by commanding his team to victories this season, even though their team is stronger this season than last.
Anyone other than these two will have to pull some impressive pooh out the rest of the season.
    JMHO!

Maybe if someone like Peterson or someone else at the another position than QB can distance themselves so far from the pack that it is obvious they were spectacular beyond comparison to the others, they might have a chance.
Is it me or does it seem like there is a lot of good QB play this season?

LOL! Or maybe if Orton is the only guy that takes his team to a 16-0 season, he gets it as a default. Do the Broncos not remind you of the Bears with Orton.
Don't make mistakes and let your PR/KR/Def score some points. Again, LOL!

Based on averages per game up to this point, not taking into account whether a certain QB (or all of them) will decline at the end of the season, etc.

the projected stats are for the NFCN:

    3843 yds, 32 td, 22 int - Cutler
    4659 yds, 25 td, 6 int - Rodgers
    3592 yds, 32 td, 5 int - Favre
3129 yds, 10 td, 21 int - Stafford (assuming he plays 14 games this season)

If Favre ends up with 3500+ yards, 30 TDs and < 10 picks, he deserves votes, no matter what name is on his jersey.
But my vote right now goes to P. Manning over anyone else.
Not that I actually have a vote.
    Which is just wrong, BTW.

over the past 5 years numerous passing records that were otherwise deemed untouchablle have been broken.
I attribute that 100% to rule changes in favour of the offense.
