everyone keeps saying "I think" it had something to do with his retirement, "I think" it was the main reason.

Its been reported Favre said "I will come back another year if we get Randy Moss"
He wanted one more ring, but didn't need one, so he threw the option out to the organization because he knows as well as we all do, Favre & Moss would be deadly.

The Packers didn't even try to pursue him, so Brett stepped aside and gave the reigns to Rodgers.
Theres no "i think" about it, Moss resigning had some affect on Favre's decision.
    The only contributing fact? No.
He's won a super bowl, he's a three time MVP, holds every record for his position.
And he's played for 17 freakin years lol. So no more thinking, know it had some affect in the outcome of his decision, but wasn't the only factor
Favre can't take the cold anymore. That was pretty evident by the amount of layers of clothes he wore on the field last winter. Certainly one would think that also factored into it.

Did Randy Moss just make his last big play to help the Vikings?

By feigning interest in other teams and fostering some glimmer of hope in Favre's eyes that the Pack might sign him, and then resigning with the Patriots, did Randy hasten Bretts depression and ultimate retirement decision.

Even in his tenure with another team Randy just keeps on making big plays for the Purple and Gold!

Kind of ironic the effect that Moss has had on the Packers over the years.

He single handedly caused them to remake their defensive look to compensate for the way he used to abuse their DB's.
He actually had a positive impact on them over the last couple years as they enjoyed the benefits of that D.
Now it has come full circle with Moss having a role in the ultimate stepping down of Favre and the changes that their offense will see in the coming years.

    What do you think.
This one might rate right up there with the "Moon over Lambeau" play!
Huh? Feigning interest in other teams?
Moss damn near signed with the Eagles.

Moss confirmed the deal on his Web site, therealrandymoss.com, and the Patriots followed with a statement.

"I want to take time out to thank all of the fans for their support and for wishing me well in my return to New England," Moss is quoted as saying on the site. "I'm ready to get back. We have some unfinished business to take care of."
Eagles offered him more money and Randy said he had "unfinished business to take care of" doesn't sound that close to signing with the Eagles

Agent Tim DiPiero confirmed to ESPN.com that Moss could have gotten more elsewhere. That elsewhere was Philadelphia, another source said, adding that Moss and coach Andy Reid held an extended conversation that led to an Eagles offer. Apparently, at one point, the Birds thought they were going to get Moss, who caught an NFL-record 23 touchdown passes last season.

I think that might be part of the feigning interest, they thought he would sign but he didn't travel there to talk to them and he signed for less to stay with the Pats

"Randy made it very clear from the get-go he wanted to be a New England Patriot," Reid said. "My hat's off to him" for staying "where his career has really blossomed."
"It was a longshot," Reid concluded, "but there was a little bit of a door open there."
Sounds like Moss was a little more up front with the Eagles about what he wanted
