A more comprehensive look at the division race
A more comprehensive look at the division race

We tried to break down the NFC North race earlier in the week and forecast what would happen with tiebreakers that could come into play. Our initial finding was that it wasn't looking good for the Bears (6-6) if they wound up in a tie at season's end with Minnesota (7-5). The Vikings are in a position where they're ahead in most of the critical tiebreakers that are used...

Re: A more comprehensive look at the division race
Thanks for the read my friend.
Best break down I've seen so far.
Long story short, keep winning and we are in, more realistically, gotta win at least 2 more and hope for some help.
My guess......Win at Detroit and Arizona. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: A more comprehensive look at the division race
Can we galvanize as a team with the loss of Kevin and Pat and win 2-3 more games? Frazier, and Childress have some work to do to give these guys the best chance to succeed down the stretch to the playoffs. We need atleast two more wins. Lets Go.

Vikeman,
I like you more the more I read from you. Is there a way to get you as a mod on this board?
Marr,
I don't think we make the playoffs this year. I'll be quiet about it but....watch.

Much agreed... Arizona could tear us up through the air, but we can tear them up on the ground... and maybe even throw in a little passing game to spice it up.Thanks for the read my friend.

Re: A more comprehensive look at the division race
It is more simple than that breakdown. We have to beat Detroit. Otherwise we don't belong in the playoffs. Then we have a nice 3 game rude awakening against most likely all playoff teams. We can prove a lot if we can beat them. We might not beat the Cardinals. Zeus and El will probably blame that on me. We should beat the Falcons at home. I think we match up well against them. Then we will have to make a statement against the Giants. Hopefully the will rest starters. That game will decide if we make the playoffs. The Bears schedule is too weak. If the Packers go 9-7, we are screwed. I really see them winning out. I think the Bears end up 8-8. We need to go 10-6 to seal the deal and make people believe we belong in the playoffs.

Re: A more comprehensive look at the division race
Lions should actually I'm going to say WILL be a win.
Loss of K&P shouldn't hurt too much as Lions don't have a running game.
I'm totally confident that the Giant's will have locked up home field, so they will rest starters, especially Manning, given Allen's penchant to hit QB's.
I think they are 2 wins.
Cards and Falcons are BOTH tough wins.
One passes other runs (without K&P Turner could hurt the Vikes)
What I'm actually afraid of is GB winning out... vs. Houston (5-7); at Jacksonville (4-8); at Chicago (6-6); vs. Detroit (0-12).
Is NOT a tough road.
Beating CHI and DET, they will have a 5-1 division record and will have the tie breaker over the Vikes if both have a 9-7 record.

I would be happy to do anything for Vikes fans, and I am an aspiring writer.
Like many people, wifey and I are in a money pickle right now so I really can't donate anything but time and effort at this time.
Many of my views are contrary, but someone has got to keep the pot stirred!
I have got many interesting ideas for posts, but don't want to be labeled a "post whore."
And also, I have many questions for Vikes fans in Minny about things like the old Met, and such.
Never been to a Vikes game in Minny at either venue.A good friend will help you move...a best friend will help you move a body.
