Millen appointed to competition committee

Just found this interesting because everybody except the guys who appointed him knows he sucks and wants him fired.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (Aug. 4, 2006) -- Detroit Lions president Matt Millen has been appointed to the NFL's competition committee.

Millen will fill the seat vacated when Charley Casserly resigned as general manager of the Houston Texans earlier this year, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced.

"Matt will bring a very valuable perspective to the committee both as a former player and as a senior club executive," Tagliabue said.

Other members of the committee include Atlanta GM Rich McKay, Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher, Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis, New York Giants co-owner John Mara, Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome, Indianapolis president Bill Polian and Carolina president Mark Richardson.

It is common place for people that are incompetent at their jobs to be placed on committees. Why waste good talent in an unproductive meeting?

Millen is a well known a$$ clown.

What do they actually do on that competion commitee? Compete in pacman games, I could see him do that.

Isn't the competition commitee the one that handles rule changes every year? This year they changed down by contact to be reviewable and make endzone celebrations illegal.

I actually think Millen could do more damage than good here.
