Thread: Mike Singletary: The Whole Story

I am starting to like the Singletary Show.
I hope they keep him around next year.
Or if not, I wonder if he likes cold winters.

Mike Singletary lost his debut as 49ers head coach, getting waxed by a Seattle team that entered the game with only one victory.
Yet Singletary's post-game rant and his decision to send Vernon Davis to the showers was cheered from coast to coast, resonating with a nation of football fans tired of all the thugs, punks and bonus-baby divas in the NFL.

The whole story is even more bizarre.

At halftime of that game, Singletary called for the attention of his players.
He then dropped his pants, turned around and pointed to his backside.
He used this occasion and that visual to describe what happened to his team in the first half.

A NFL source inside the room confirmed the story with my radio partner, XTRA 910 football guru Mike Jurecki, and added...

I heard on the Sirius this morning (re-air of a show last night) that he was given a new contract that stated he was the head coach and he was being paid head coach money.
Additionally they went into great detail about how it can be extended if the owner sees fit.

Not sure what all that means but IMHO I don't think he will be going anywhere.

The trouble with Singletary - apparently - is the lack of tactical knowledge. I heard that the word in SF town it that that is the reason that people has steered clear of him so far. He is good with motivation and positional coaching, but he's not the greatest in game management.
