RATS! We can't start a thread saying we should get him as coach!

One more losing season and then Singletary will step in.

NOLAN "DOOMED" IN SAN FRAN?

In response to the news that 49ers coach Mike Nolan will keep his job but with lesser authority, a source with knowledge of the situation believes that it won't last.

"It's totally doomed," said the source.
"He's not the type of guy to handle that relationship with a higher authority.
I give him one year, tops."

It really does seem odd to us that the Yorks wouldn't think enough of Nolan to give him final say over personnel, but would still believe he's the answer at head coach.
It would have made a lot more sense to just move on -- especially in an offseason with relatively few head-coaching vacancies.
