Michael Vick doesn't sound so thrilled about being an Eagle

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shu...urn=nfl,201166
"I won't be a Wildcat guy. I can't," Vick told NBC. "It's a different style of play. It's almost like a hit-or-miss type of thing. My position is quarterback. That's what I was born to do."

Vick should be glad he's even in the NFL.
He should be glad he even gets on the field.
Most 3rd string QB's never see the field.

Maybe if he did anything when he got a chance his role would increase.

I doubt the Eagles will keep him and I think Vick will get a wakeup call when no team will take him as a starter.
I actually hope McNabb has to step out for a quarter and Reid sends Vick in.
    LOL!

He was not whining just answering the question.

answer should be "I'm glad to be a Eagle and will do whatever to win a Championship"
especially for someone that comes in with a LOT of baggage.

But NOOOO.... his answer "I won't be a wildcat guy.
    I can't"
Not what a ex-con should be saying if the coach plays him in a wildcat.

What would you say if AD said "I won't be a blocker.
    I can't"

Vick needs to keep his mouth shut, but I really hope he doesn't because I hope he can't find a new team that would deal with a guy with not only baggage but a mouth too.

"It's what I was born to do."

Then how about not throwing it all the drain with a dogfighting ring, Mr. Mexico?

I don't think this was really a slight on the Eagles.

He knew what his role was when he came in to the mix ... I think he just wants the rest of the league to know he thinks he is better than just a Wildcat guy and he hopes to get his shot.

He knew he was not the starter in Philly and wouldn't be unless McNabb went down and Kolb looked bad. This was his ticket back in, and while he is happy to have the ticket, he wants it known that he thinks he can perform at a higher level if given the chance.

What was he supposed to say to the question? "Yeah, I am nothing but a gimmick QB at best and I don't think I can really cut it here or anywhere for that matter. I am practically stealing money."

I totally agree with your post.

I was enlightened a bit by the post above that talked about the "I can't" statement.

I can't is something he should have left out.
It is a glimpse of his insides, lol.
At the very least, it sounds like he might not be giving it his all because he doesn't believe in it.
So therefore your team will be alright if he is doing what he wants to do.
    That is how it sounds.

He has done well proving he can be part of a team again, we will see how far that takes him next season.
I don't think the Eagles need to pay him that kind of money when Kolb is a good back up right now.
He did a great job filling in for McNabb this season.

I wish him the best wherever he lands.
