Bennett assumes starter's role amid L.J./Priest circus

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- Larry Johnson is still a holdout and Priest Holmes is still a question mark.

That makes Michael Bennett the Kansas City Chiefs' first-string running back, for now.....

I'm sorry but Bennet has no vision, and no patience to wait for blocks to develope. He's easily knocked down, and can only run in a straight line. Good luck on the grass in KC.

If he is their RB this year they are in big trouble! They'll be onto their thrid string guy by week 5. lol

He may not have realized his full potential with us, and he certainly has his weaknesses.
However, I watched a good portion of their first preseason game, and he looked pretty sharp.
It got me thinking is KC's running attack sort of like Denver's where they can plug anyone in and he'll have success.
Holmes and LJ are both special backs, but it's possible they may not have put up the same #'s in other systems.
I think LJ and the Chiefs are close to a contract agreement anyway, so it likely won't matter what Bennett does.

Yeah, I don't see LJ not playing this year. Once he's back, it will be sionara to Bennett back to the back up spot.

If you have a strong O-line with good run blocking (which K.C. does) than any half ass running back can put up AT LEAST average numbers.
If they give Bennett a hole he is gone...at least until he reaches the secondary.
