Who else would you give it to?
He is opportunistic. He is the best blocking WR in the NFL and works hard on every play.
I do not think all the receptions, yards, and TD's in his career support the idea that he sucks.
Ward deserves it. It was either him or randle el. He is a great reciever.

Yeah, it would suck to have the best blocking WR and a guy who leaves it all on the field.
For a team like the Steelers who are a run first team, his numbers sure are good and consistant.

Re: A message to Hines Ward
I don't know how you can give a MVP award out to anybody in a game like that.
That was one of the worst SB games I've watched in many years. At least in a blow out game, one team is at least playing good football.
Seattle beat themselves more than Pittsburg beat them.
It'll be interesting to hear what the arbitron (?) ratings are for this game. I doubt they will be very good.I used to be indecisive, now I m not so sure!

I would give anything to have Hines Ward on my team, he plays with heart and is a born winner.

ward is the only steeler that could be giving the mvp. he deserve it as well. cant give big ben, 2 ints and no passing tds. parker had one play, bettis didnt do anything, the defensive was good together, but no one person stood out.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Okay, you can get off your soapbox now because this is probably one of the most idiotic threads I've ever seen. Yes he may not be blazing fast, but hes tough as hell, and can create for himself. He does more than just run fly patterns and leap and catch. He does all the dirty work and sacrifices his body to catch the ball. Not to mention he is money when it comes to the big game.

Re: A message to Hines Ward
Mr. Anderson what are you smoking? Hines Ward is a great receiver. He is tough, ALWAYS plays hard, is as fast as the average NFL WR, has good hands, blocks well, is consistent. Don't give me that "he wouldn't fit our system BS". First off why does that matter, a lot of GREAT players were only really suited to play in one type of system.
He is probably the most well rounded WR in the NFL. The guy had 4 straight 1000 yard seasons, and almost made 1000 this year, despite being in the most run-oriented offense in the league.
I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

He dropped a perfect pass that hit him in the hands in the endzone.Just look at the difference Ward made to his team - he caught all the balls that came his way. Seattle (read: Jeremy Stevens) had a problem with dropped balls and it was a significant reason for their loss.

I agree with Skum 100%Randle El should have gotten the MVP title.. He made no mistakes and was the X factor is this game..
hines ward is better than every reciever on our team, and every reciever in our division other than maybe javon walker. he is the only reviever in the nfl who can actually block. he isn't a headline guy, their are no headline guys on the steelers offense. there doesn't need to be. back to ward, he consistantly puts up pretty good numbers in an offense that doesn't like to throw the ball, not something you can do if you suck as bad as you're all making him out to be.

Re: A message to Hines Ward
Hey, I got another WR that was not very fast either:

Yes, Carter was not fast. But as you know that did not mean squat! Look at Ward's size...guy plays like a fricken gladiator!
