McGahee traded to Ravens

McGahee traded to Ravens for multiple picks

The Ravens and Bills agreed to a trade Thursday that will send running back Willis McGahee to Baltimore in exchange for the team's third and seventh-round picks in this year's draft, along with the Ravens' third-round pick in 2008, league sources told ESPN.com.

I just saw that on ESPN, imo the Ravens didnt have to give up much to get him. McGahee is a good young RB. Im not saying that i would have wanted to give up that for him though. I think Chester is a great back, perfectly happy with him. Gotta wonder if the Ravens arent kickin themselves a bit.

Not a bad deal for the Ravens...you gotta think that the Bills are gonna suck next year though.

What makes you say this?
They have just signed 3 good OL in Dockery, Whittle, and Langston from FA, and it looks as though they are going to be picking up Corey Dillon.

Agreed, none of those names appear to be guys that are gonna take a team over the top....

They actually got him for TWO 3rd rounders and a 7th.
I think its a pretty fair trade, and I think he will have success in Baltimore.

Re: McGahee traded to Ravens

Seems like a stupid move by Buffalo. According to what I've read, he was pretty much traded because the Bills anticipated difficult contract negotiations next year. Now they have no sure option, and they gave up a really solid starter for modest picks. Anything can happen in a season's time. He could have had a lackluster year and re-signed for less than what the team is predicting; furthermore, Buffalo is almost always in the top 5 for cap space (This year was 33.0 Million PRIOR to the March cuts). They should use some of their space to, you know, not suck.
