Maybe NOT getting Meachem was a blessing in disguise?

He showed up at minicamp out of shape...wonder if his "great character" was all a ruse?

Kinda makes you think that his 'break out season' last year could have been more of a fluke then anything. He never bloomed untill his last season, with a half way decent QB behind him.IDK i'm on the fence about him...he does have potential bust written all over him tho.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

It might or it might not be. I still think when he is in shape he will be a very good WR in the NFL. The way Meachem was raised I really doubt he is afraid of hard work.

    Thanks Josdin00 for the sig!

Yeah...I think that he will still be good too...BUT since we got Rice instead, I would like to think that Sidney will be the best WR in the 2007 draft...it would make the Vikes look even better!

Re: Maybe NOT getting Meachem was a blessing in disguise?

When I was trying to figure out which WR would be the best fit for the Vikes I continually found comments like this that lead me to believe that Meachem might not be as committed to playing ball as some thought.

Here are some snippets from one of the many scouting reports out there.

    has a lack of focus

develop the ability to run every route necessary and not just the deep routes

    “one year wonder” status

    solid work ethic

Yep...Rice will be the best...Johnson will be the biggest bust of the draft since he is playing with the lions.

to play Devils advocate. I can understand how this happens. Its hard with all of the pre draft hype. to stay on a routine. Plus like he said most visits included a meal or two. I am going with the niave statement and say that he probably never had meals so good ;D. If he gets back in shape which I think he will. He will be Ok. The best WR in the draft? Maybe a top 5 Of course I want Rice but I think that Jarrett or Bowe may end up as the best of the bunch.
