from wikipedia:
"During the seven years in which Martz was involved with the Rams, the team went to two of the franchise's three Super Bowls. His record of 55-5 with a lead any time in the 4th Qtr [917 winning %] and 26.5 pts a game as a head coach were the best of all time at the end of 2005 season by any coach in the history of the NFL."
and
"The Rams are 15-28 since Martz left."
He did get a Matt Millen team 7 wins more than any year since 2000. So I don't think you can blame the lions problems solely on Martz.
Not calling him a genius but his football knowledge probably dwarfs the combined knowledge of everyone on this site.
But you gotta give me the fact that his "Greatest Show On Turf" isn't that great of a show anymore once a few D-cords (most know more than him) figured out how easy it was to stop it.
Since that happened he hasn't come up with anything to show me he is still on genius levels. :P ;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

There once was a coordinator who won a Super Bowl ring....then became a head coach and pretty much tanked and got fired...and it WASN'T Martz.
Later on, he did find some success though (although that success is now in question due to his now-exposed nefarious methods).
Maybe Martz has a trick or two up HIS sleeve like that OTHER guy did and will turn it around in his next HC gig.
Hmmmm...........BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Re: Martz's genius is at the level of Meathead's
if he learned to run the ball more often, he would be one of the best coordinators in the NFL, i think he is gonna do well with Alex Smith
