Martz out as OC in Detroit?
MARTZ REPLACEMENT ALREADY LINED UP?

From PFT
A league source tells us in response to our item regarding the potential departure of offensive coordinator Mike Martz in Motown that Martz will be out, and that his potential replacement already has been lined up.
We're working on getting the name of the guy who is slated to take Martz's place.
The lack of offense down the stretch, the lack of a running game, and the bad personnel decisions for guys he wanted (Tatum Bell, George Foster, & others) are the reasons he will be gone," the source said.
"It's a done deal."

Re: Martz out as OC in Detroit?
I would get him out of there.
Martz still thinks he has Warner, Holt, Bruce and Faulk on his offense. He takes way too many risks and is far too imbalanced most of the time. Plus, he undermines Marinelli with his ego and media presence.
I think the best move for the Lions would be to get him out of there.

Re: Martz out as OC in Detroit?
WOW another stupid move by the Lions. I hate Martz but he is a good coach. They need to get rid of Kitna.

Re: Martz out as OC in Detroit?
The NFL regular season isn't over, and already the job juggling is underway.
Detroit will fire offensive coordinator Mike Martz after Sunday's season-ending game at Green Bay and replace him with receivers coach Kippy Brown, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Re: Martz out as OC in Detroit?
San Fran would make sense.
He will get picked up by someone either as an OC or HC. I would not be surprised if Miami is in the mix somewhere as well.

Re: Martz out as OC in Detroit?
I wonder what his Madden rating is?
;D
Sorry couldn't resist.
Martz is a inovative kindof OC that, if he is put in the right situation with the right kinds of players he would do good.
Give him the following:
a. 3 Fast outstanding WR's with 2 others that aren't half bad.
b. 1 RB that can get outside in the run, block well and catch the rock out of the backfiled.
c.
1 QB that can make quick throws on time, on target to WR's in stride
And you would have the greatest show on turf.
Unfortunately for Martz he doesn't have that in Detroit nor will he find that kindof talent on one team ever again.
Such a shame that even though he is very inovative he can't come up with a scheme that uses the talent on the field.
So for the inevitable guys that will come out and post......."Lets get him and pooh can Bevell" or even the Chiller for that matter.......Are you ready for another 5 years of rebuilding as he tries to go find those types of players?
Our ZB OL and RB's along with our blocking WR's aren't quiet made up for that type of offense.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Think what are offense would be like if we had elements a. and c.

It was my attempt at humor but as always I failed.
One of these days I might figure out how to be funny without putting a hole bunch of smileys in the posts so you guys can figure out I am joking.

Kitties to fire Martz
Just saw the Lions are expected to fire Mike Martz. Would we be interested as a OC or HC in the Northlands? I have always like this guy, but I know there are mixed feelings on him from around the NFL world.
