He took some antibiotics in order to coach this past weekend, made him feel better, but it probably is more ocmplicated than just that. He mentioned in his PC today that he was afraid that he might be a distraction for the team also.
Probably something to do with the stress level too.
I hope everything turns out ok for him. I think my stress level would be pretty darn high too if I had an underachieving team every year like him.....oh wait, nevermind.
Looks like Martz will resign due to his health issues

If Martz has any thoughts of going back to offensive coordinating I would love to see the Vikes go after him in the offseason. He really is a whiz on offense (which means he should get along with the returning O.Smith right?), though he has had his issues. I dont know what I would think about the possibility of him being the next coach in the offseason ... let the discussion begin!
yah while he was just OC the rams won the super bowl they got back there with him at the helm but i see them slowly declining. i think it would be an interesting scenario to see him at the helm of our offense
I hope he recovers and is well enough to coach again.
I hope he can coach again too. I am from the St. Louis area (was born there) so I default the St.L teams when my Vikes and my SF Giants go down. I have always been a Martz apologist. I do think he has a little too much of an ego, but he is definitely an offensive whiz and hires good help around himself for the most part (he was a big reason they had Lovie Smith when they did). Our offense is built perfectly for a mind like his.
