Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick called Minnesota offensive coordinator Mitch Browning to share his initial thoughts on RB Laurence Maroney. Browning said, ""(Belichick) said it's been a long time since he's had a running back accelerate through the hole like Maroney. He also said Laurence has fit in well with the other players."

Great news all-round.. I can't wait to see Maroney tear it up in the NFL like he did the Big 10. I'll be following New England purely to see how he does in the years to come. Hopefully he can push Corey Dillon out of the starting role in 2007! :grin:

I actually think he will do a better job in the Pats' running scheme than he did in Minnesota's zone scheme. I am very interested in this kids future.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if he pushes dillon out of the starting spot...and I also wouldnt be surprised if he's the OROY!
