The Vikings and Chargers are in similar predicaments. Both are coming off 9-7 seasons in which they didn’t make the playoffs and both lost their incumbent quarterbacks.

But the Vikings have added problems. Designated quarterback Brad Johnson will turn 38. He’s an interim solution at best. And coach Brad Childress is new. He thought he had a proven quarterback in Daunte Culpepper even though Culpepper is coming off a serious knee injury. But Culpepper’s attitude didn’t meet with Childress’ expectations.

The Vikings must do no less than reinvent themselves in their short time in training camp. Their reputations sullied after last season’s tawdry Love Boat incident, the team and new owner Zygi Wilf have cleaned house, adding new general manager Rick Spielman to the mix at the start of the summer.

I'm not surprised to see us and the Saints on there. IMO, the Vikes and the Saints have been the two most underacheiving teams in the league over the last 5 years.
