The truth is, even if LT breaks every record, there will still be a large number of people who will say he is not the best.
Rarely is there someone who is universally regarded as the greatest ever.
Other than Jerry Rice at WR, Deion at DB, and LT (the real LT) at LB, there arent any consensus #1s (possibly Reggie White at DE).
But even though Rice is the consensus #1 WR of all time, he's not in my book.
Just look at his QBs- Montana and Young, towards the end- a 5000 yard Gannon.
Think of the types of numbers CC (or Moss) could have put up if he would have had Montana and Young to dish him the rock for basically his whole career.
Would Rice still be #1 if he had a different QB every 2 years or so like Carter did?
Just look at QB, if Favre breaks Marino's TDs completions and yardage marks, he still wont be the consensus #1.
Some will still say Marino, some Montana, some Elway, some Unitas.
Sort of like Emmit, numbers dont necessarily make you #1.
In my book, Barry Sanders is the greatest running back of all time.
Never have I seen such moves, finess, speed, and vision from another RB.
But at the same time I understand where people are coming from when they say Walter Payton and Jim Brown.
Basically all Im saying is that even if LT breaks every record, there will still be a large population that will not consider him the best.

Chuch.

Barry Sanders' FATHER says the best RB of all-time is Jimmy Brown.tru dat.
that guy was a the biggest badass to play running back. if you dont believe me just watch some of his highlights.
after you watch him you wont be able to say hes not the best runningback to lace up the cleats.

Have you ever seen highlights of Payton?
Have any clue about his work ethic or how he gave all of himself to the game?
Barry's right there in the discussion, for sure, but to casually dismiss all others with a wave of your hand is a disservice to a great man who deserves your respect.

i didnt. i watched highlights of all and based my assumption on that. the next best highlight is jim brown.
IMHO its barry sanders.

Re: Is LT the greatest running back of all-time?
the best? no but i believe he could be considered one come the end of his career
he's a high impact player, in my opinion, there is hardly anyone like him in the league, that single-handedly changes the game for his team and any time things look rough you put the ball in that guys hands (besides maybe Tom Brady and Peyton Manning)
IMO, he's the most talented player in the league today

Re: Is LT the greatest running back of all-time?
He's better now than any other RB was, but in order to be called the best of all time he has to show he can do it till the end of his career.
He's the most complete back ever IMO, can't really think of anything he doesn't do well.
I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.
