    Lovie staying put?

    Lovie staying put?

Some Lovie Smith to Dallas rumors surfaced after Bill Parcells decided to call it quits again this week. Bears President Ted Phillips, however, said Wednesday that he has had preliminary talks with Smith and GM Jerry Angelo about new contracts. Those discussions will resume after the Super Bowl.

Smith is way underpaid (four-year, $1.35 million deal that is in its third year) — can you say Mike Tice money? – and losing Smith would be a major PR hit considering the success he’s had in Chicago. Of course, Smith bolting the Bears might have been good news for Vikings fans.

Just thought I’d post something so you folks would have a new spot to start arguing about Wilf, Childress and the IHOP play-calling chart.
