If I played ball and had a teammate that was robbed at gunpoint outside his home( a mans palace) I would carry a gun to. I would do so legally but I would carry one nevertheless.
If I had that kind of money I would be paying a vertified security specialist who is licensed to carry a concealed weapon.
He would also know how to use a gun better than your average thug, so their wouldn't be accidental discharges that end up in my leg.

I feel no sympathy for Plax's dumb tushy
Security isn't cheap. Honestly, you would high security evertime you go out with your friends? Do you know how poor you would be? Especially since most NFL contracts are based on performace and only a % is guarreenteed?
Everyone thinks that NFL players are loaded and because they are rich they are immune to the troubles of the world. They aren't, we are in a recession and most of them who have invested are taking the same hits to the pockets( % based) that you are.
I don't think it's right he had it....but i won't call him stupid for dong what he thinks is right. I drive a nice car and I don't always feel safe leaving the club. I can only imagine what they must feel like when they leave a club.
What the fuck do you mean security isn't cheap? Have you ever hired security? My dad has. He goes to bad countries all the time. These guys have loads of money. Do you watch MTV cribs? They spend it like crazy. Don't act like these guys can't hire security. That is just a bunch of BS.

Would you learn how to operate this handgun you take everywhere with you? Or would you shoot yourself in the leg.

No one should feel for some idiot who shoots himself in the leg unloading a handgun while drinking wine.

Second, how would you carry a handgun, legally, in places like NY where you can't legally do so. Not every state loves guns as much as Texas apparently. Plax knew this and decided to carry a concealed handgun into a night club. Unless he needs serious cougar protection it seems like he's kind of an idiot.. Again.
Many trained professionals have been shot while carring a gun. It happens. As for why he would need a gun in the club....Well it's not so much needing it in the club as it is getting to and from the car safely. Typically the contents of your pocket remain with you once you enter the club.

I simply said I would try and do so leagally. In NY you cannot, which I find unconstitional. Have you been to clubs in NY? Seeing that I'm from NYC, I can tell you that it's not always safe when you leave a club. Hell, I never put my car top down or up outside the club in NY and the broads in DC love that
    :'(

Again, I don't blame the man for wanting to protect himself.
OMG are you reading what you write? A gun with the safety on in a holdster on your hip or chest does not just go off. He obviously had it out and was showing off.

I have been to clubs in NYC and guess what I pay for valet service and I am not rich.
This is not fucking rocket science.

Well in that case if it's so unsafe I would say don't put yourself in that situation

Idiotic to put yourself in danger and your teammates in jeapordy
There coems a point where you still have to live your life. Most of these guys are 28 - 30.
I'm 26 and I don't expect me to stop clubbing in 2 years....imagine if I had the money to actually enjoy myself and be surrounded by a bunch of sexy attractive women all fighting for my attention
    :-\

I recently looked into purchasing a 9mm, but I plan to have it liscensed and get a permit to carry it in my car legally. It's not that going to the club is unsafe, it's that you are a marked man at any time. People are jealous of your sucess. People are jealous of the things you own. People are poor and would like to make you pay for being happy. Plex could be going to the grocery store and get jacked. It happens.

I don't like how he went from beign NY's hero to "some thug and hoodlum. That is the great irony of sports in America, unless you are a token you are a villian. I think he has been a real idiot this season but the way the team gave him up to the police after he played his ass off for them on a career threatening ankle injury and caught the deciding play to win the superbowl, is akin to a slave master selling off his oldest slave after promising him his freedom upon his death. F*ck the Giants

Since when has Plax been NYC's hero? LMFAO! Are you seriously comparing slavery to this? I think I just read the dumbest post ever.

are you kidding me...just because he caught the winning td in the superbowl he gets a pass on being stupid??
Oh and his team gave him up if the doctor would of followed the law then they wouldn't be invloved.
I'm sorry but the guy shot himself with his own gun...he obviously didn't know what he was doing or was intoxicated and or both so really its surprising he didn't hurt anyone else.
Just because your a NFL player doesn't mean you get special treatment.
And comparing it to slavery is so off the wall i have not idea what to say about it!

Plax wasn't a hero in the superbowl? Are you serious. I wasn't comparing it to slavery else I would have said this is like slavery. If you can't wrap your mind the metaphor say so.
