Lions' Roy Williams says 'score means nothing'
Kind of interesting, not sure he meant it the way they're portraying it, though. He seems to be getting kind of cocky.
The Lions' Roy Williams apparently doesn't play to win the game. He'd rather strike a pose.
Williams' celebration after his first catch of Sunday's game against the Bears drew ire from the Chicago crowd and had Detroit Free Press columnist Mitch Albom scratching his head.
When Albom asked Williams why he celebrated a reception with his team already trailing by two scores, Williams responded, "I celebrate first downs all the time. I'm not gonna stop that. I'm an exciting player. If I do something exciting, I'm gonna show my actions."
Albom responded, "But you were losing, 10-0."
"What does that mean? ... That means nothing to me. The score means nothing," Williams told Albom.
Williams had angered the Bears by guaranteeing a Lions victory during the week. Detroit, however, was no match for Chicago in a lopsided 34-7 defeat.
Afterward, Williams said he didn't regret making the guarantee.
"No, because everyone believes what I said," he told Albom.
Williams caught six passes for 71 yards in the loss -- and he issued another guarantee afterward.
"You can all run with this: We will win the [next] game," he told reporters. "I don't care who it's against. We will win the game as long as we do what we're supposed to do. That's my comment for the whole week."
WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!

In AP I trust

They were talking about this on Mike&Mike this morning.
He has to be the candidate for the "Just shutup award".
I guess if he keeps making these guarantees eventually he will get one right......No wait....this is the Lions we're talking about....nevermind.
;D

He should win it for the year.
He just keeps spitting them out week after week.
His teammates need to tell him to STFU.

Re: Lions' Roy Williams says 'score means nothing'
What a f'n putz... I get a good laugh out of players that strut their crap when they make a little play, and they are already down by 2 scores.. The Packers are good for that.. I remember last week against the Bears when the cheese was down by like 3 td's, and Barnett had a tackle for a loss, and he gets up and jumps around like they just won the SB.. Look at the scoreboard moron...
Now I do hope that the Lions kick the crap out of GB, but I also hope this guy gets beat on a little bit.. Doesn't he realize that all he is doing is pissing other teams off when he makes stupid remarks like that? Just shut the fu@k up and play the game..

And just when we thought Roy Williams was the only formidable receiver the Lions had, he proves everyone wrong.
