Who would you keep as the second FB if you cut Dugan or are you saying we only need one FB in an offense that puts such an emphasis on the FB position? T-rich needs some rest because of the pounding that the FB takes in this offense.well if you look at the predicted roster

I've put this in someplace else as well, however, I will put it in here again. With the addition of Robert Ferguson, the Vikings are more likely to take a flyer on a guy like Todd Lowber. But they’re more likely to offer Lowber a spot on the practice squad, while a more polished receiver such as Martin Nance takes the sixth WR spot.
One of Lowbers reasons for signing with the Vikes was they were willing to give him a 3 year commitment on his contract.
He will definately be on the practice squad this year if what the article says is true. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Dugan is the backup FB, period.
JimmyK hasn't played FB for quite some time.
Owens has to stay because they need 3 TEs to cover backup for double-TE sets.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

+1ND pointed out the crappy kicking that causes the disparity between our returning special teams to opponents.
I didn't see the Rams game but Nugent is one hell of a kicker for the Jets.
I thought Allison looked like a capable future returnman at the Meadowlands.
I don't think a return specialist would entirely solve the problem.
The most alarming problem looked to be the blocking from the front line and the wedge.
On the only kick Allison received out of the end zone he was smothered soon after. On top of that MeMo has been consistently been an above average punt returner previous years.
I don't think Fergi is gonna be the answer on returns in anyway.
I am not even sure where that idea is coming from.
Chilly has stated he is looking for options to better the special teams.
I come from the camp that would prefer to see young guys with potential held on to if possible, but I think this is gonna be a competitive team this year so if Chili deems that this guy could be an immediate asset then I am all for it.

Re: Lions release return specialist Eddie Drummond
MeMo has definitely got to be the choice for PR.
KR is another story..........hopefully Allison shows something.
But IMO, the Special Teams that I saw that need to be worked on, is our coverage team!!
We need to get ALOT
better in our coverage teams.
Our return man will be worked out, and eventually ok.
I just can't see much on our Kick coverage!!
