Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson(notes) will reportedly join the Cincinnati Bengals today, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

He'll apparently get paid $306,764.43, the pro-rated league minimum, for the final seven games of the season and was purely brought on as an insurance policy in case someone gets hurt. He'll be fourth on the running back depth chart so nobody else should expect changes in playing time - unless, of course, he breaks out and proves to be brilliant with the Bengals.

"It would have zero affect on Cedric Benson, Bernard Scott or Brian Leonard," Coach Marvin Lewis said of a hypothetical deal.

With Benson getting nicked, Johnson might just jump up a few spots.

I guess we'll find out if LJ still has some gas in the tank or have those legs been used up by the Chiefs.

I personally believe he will be a solid 1/2 punch with Cedric

They seem to compliment eachother well IMO

We will see if they actually keep him around for a bit
