Lame a$$ publicity for the '72 Dolphin's players stupid tradition
Bears are who we thought they were....
Colts..... time will tell!
Am I the only person sick of the media making a big deal out of the '72 Dolphin players celebrating each year as soon as every team in the NFL gets a loss on their record?
Those players should sit back and celebrate the Superbowl victories and great teams they had in the 70's.
It is not cute.
It is stupid.
Even if I were a Dolphin fan, I would be proud of the undefeated season, but certainly wouldn't anguish over someone else having the same type of great year!
If I were those players, I would get more joy out of congratutating an undefeated team....shaking their hands....and welcoming them to a VERY EXCLUSIVE undefeated club!
Maybe this might sound like bashing..... but, the Dolphins had a easy schedule in 1972. Only 5 of their 14 games involved opponents who ended up winning more games than they lost (against other teams), and those opponents' records were hardly impressive: 8-5, 7-6, 7-6, 8-5. Miami faced only one non-division opponent that year (Kansas City) who finished higher than third in their own division. They played the Oilers(1-13) once and Patriots (3-11) twice.
The Dolphin opponent winning percentage was .375
The accomplishment was real....but does NOT mean they were even close to the best team ever!
I for one would like to see the Colts run the damn table and win it all....if for no other reason, than to stop this STUPID tradition!
>
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

I, also am rooting for the Colts to run the table and shut those old farts up...absent the Vikings making it to the Super Bowl, of course!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

;D
Sounds like I am not the only one that feels this way about the old farts....it just shows no class to me.
Great players like Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice will be happy for the players that finally break their records.....
It is 1st class and does not take away that players accomplishment.I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

If it was an old vikes team we'ld love it to.
The did it, no one else ever has, they deserve it.

Doesn't bother me at all.

I am sick and tired of the classless celebration of teams losing each year...
what does that have to do with their season?
If it was the 73 Vikes or the 98 Vikes....yes, it would make me proud to say....we were one of the only two teams to ever go undefeated!
That doesnt mean I would get joy out of the Colts (or any other team) losing in week 10 or 13 or 16....
That to me is just LAME.
Again....just an opinion.....
Really, more to the point is trying to figure out why FOX or CBS feel that this is a newsworthy story that must be covered every year.
Each year, they show some fat guys garage with guys drinking champagne after a loss.
The number of former players that gather is less and less every year....
I think even they are starting to feel like its stupid.I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

*sniff sniff
smells like jealousy in here
;D
As old as the champagne toasting is getting, you can't overlook what they accomplished that season.
They are proud old men holding onto a piece of history.
Let them gloat.

I agree they are proud old men holding onto a piece of history...
I also agree...let them gloat...
but they should show some class by clanking glasses in private if at all....
It is just a borish, stupid yearly piece of garbage journalism we have to hear each year.
Not sure why you felt the need to include the *sniff sniff or jealousy remark...
I was only throwing a subject out for discussion.
There is no tears on my part...
I just know that if the Colts win one or two more games, we will have to hear the same old, tired report that we have heard for the last 30 years.I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

It's been such a tradition for so long now, I can't see it media outlets NOT covering it.
All in good fun my man... all in good fun.Not sure why you felt the need to include the *sniff sniff or jealousy remark...

I do think that a lot of people who complain about it are a bit jealous though.
I mean if it was your team, I'm sure you'd be able to appriciate it like I do.
