    Kornheiser's debut tonight on MNF...

means I'm listening to KFAN while watching.
How some east coast blowhard who hasn't watched a live sporting event in ten years lands the MNF gig is beyond me.

I would rather listen to Madden mumble or even Dennis Miller talk about nothing.

Either you misread WV's post or I can't pick up on sarcasm.
And he does not know his info.
He knows less about sports than anyone I've ever seen on national tv or ever listened to on the radio.

I'm interrested to see how he does the only negative that I have about it is that this may prevent him from being on PTI with Wilbon because the show is never as great as it is with both of them.

I think it's great...I can't wait to see him on the show. He's going to be the best MNF broadcaster since Howard Cosell! He's funny, he's witty and he's going to have a great confrontational dynamic with that a-hole Theisman. It may be the perfect crew.

Finally, a guy with a journalism background instead of just another old football player kicking out the cliches!!

As for not knowing anything about sports, Mensa, he's been writing sports columns since the late 1970's and has been nominated for the Pulitzer prize. Why don't you post your resume and we'll all decide who knows more about sports? Perhaps you do have a problem "picking up sarcasm", because Kornheiser's columns are rife with it.

I personally can't wait to see him in action; I just hope he does some kind of version of his "Tony's Mailbag" segment....it's funnier than hell.

It'll be cool to see how he does. I hope he's good but he'll probably be nervous on his first MNF game.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Kornheiser does.
I don't see this being an "experiment" like the Dennis Miller thing.
He's been a sports journalist for 30+ years and he's no fool.
I used to listen to his show on ESPN radio and while I didn't always agree with him, it was entertaining.
Whether or not he'll be successful is anyone's guess.
It'll depend on the chemistry those guys have in the booth.
    Should be interesting.

Re: Kornheiser's debut tonight on MNF...

Boog, he is a very good writer.
He also writes about stuff he researches.
Watch PTI sometime and then convince me the guy does any research on the talking points.
He doesn't know a damn thing.
He tosses out baseless opinions on teams, players, coaches, leagues, etc... he knows nothing about.
He is as much in the know about teams west of Philly as anyone with an ESPN insiders account.
    The guy is a boob.
Hearing Jim Lampley talk about the demise of ABC Sports today went right along with how I've seen things play out.
Lampley knows as much about this stuff as anyone next to Costas and Michaels.
When those guys talk and share their opinions, you know they know what they're talking about.
Kornheiser knows what he writes about but his knowledge of sports on a national level is pathetic for a guy with his own show on ESPN.
PTI during college basketball season is particularly embarrassing to watch.
He even admits to not watching college football and basketball games but still talks about it daily.
When he makes predictions and shares his opinions he offers nothing to support his claims.
    That is all.
I can't wait to hear PA tonight.
Someone who actually knows who the players are.
