Koren Robinson is North Carolina's third-worst tax delinquent

Damn, even when doing something wrong he's still not the best.

Koren Robinson was a bust in the NFL and then couldn't even hack it in the UFL, getting suspended by the upstart league for missing meetings. And now he has a problem of another kind.

The Charlotte Observer reports that Robinson owes $497,502 in taxes to the state of North Carolina, where he was born and raised and played college football at North Carolina State.

They need to make these athletes attend a mandatory money management course. It amazes me how may players with multi-million dollar contracts can go broke or in debt.

Tax issues are a tricky thing. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions based on this. It's very easy for a pro-athlete to have these types of issues. Could be he was actually a resident of another state, but his home state wasn't notified.

Any pro athlete with a half way decent advisor will make there tax home in a non-taxed state. Even Joe "minnesota" Mauer is technically a resident of Florida.

My point still stands.

If you're in the position, where a small screwup like filing some paperwork means you could owe 500K+, you should probably talk to somebody who knows what they're doing.

These guys go from having no money, or a regular household income usually, to being millionaires. They have no clue how to manage that kind of money.

exactly instead of throwing money at the hangers on invest it in a decent accountant, course that would be too simple.

I don't think anyone disagreed

They have a thing at the rookie thing that goes about this.. Would be nice if they continued it further however

But I can definitley see why some of these athletes do what they do.. I get my tax refund check back and thats like triple of a paycheck and I go nuts with it
