If it was agreed upon by both parties to do it that way, why not. My guess is it is a stipulation in his agreement with the Vikes. Why would you gaurantee a guy over a 1/2 million dollars out of our cap room before a trial, that may result in his ability to play for us? That would be like throwing money out the door. We need that cap space in case we need to sign replacements due to injuries. Besides even though he's gone thru a 28 day program doesn't mean he's cured. He's one drink away from a drunk. Can't even guarantee a salary for one year? I guess the Vikes don't have much faith in him.
He'll be a Viking this week & get another chance to prove himself if the trial goes all right. It's a done deal & I'm not worried about it. If he does screw up we'll be able to cut him with no strings attached. It's strictly a business move.

Re: Koren Robinson to the Packers?
Koren is actually on waivers right now and came be claimed by any team. So basically, if the pack now make a claim for him, they get him, if no team above them on the waiver list also puts in a claim.
If he clears waivers, then we will immediately resign him. That will be after tonight's game is over.
I believe if a team claims him, that means they get him for the contract we signed him for, meaning(I think but could be wrong here) that his contract would be gauranteed for this season.
