Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
This is the best news of the off season.
Now if only FOX would fire Joe "Futt" Buck, my day would be complete.

Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
Yeah, Gruden has not only the football IQ, but a great fiery yet funny personality.
Best choice they've made for that job in a while IMO.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
That's great news. I can not stand cornholer on the rado or on MNF. I think Gruden will be an excellent addition. Probably not a long term one though.
Why must you defend everything this FO does....to the point of making your self look like a yes man.

Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
I like the Gruden choice, it may be short-term, but there should be some funny moments in the booth this season. And some "Chuckie" faces to boot.

Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
Funny video with Gruden sound clips from him over the years.
He quotes Bud Grant: "Every head coach needs three things: 1.) A Patient Wife 2.) A loyal Dog 3.) A hell of a Quarterback"
Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Re: Jon Gruden replaces Tony Kornheiser on MNF
Uh-oh.
Gruden was #1 on my wish list for the 2010 off-season.
Well, at least I don't have to hear Kornheiser clamor about celebrities in the stands and spew total nonsense drowning out Tirico's excellent play-by-play or Jaws' good analysis.

I believe Kornheiser had been on for 3 or 4 years already."bleedpurple" wrote:
I think he sort of conveyed the folksy aspect... meaning, he'd always play the dumb guy and Jaws would explain the intricacies.THANK GOD!!!.. PTI is great, he may even be a decent writer.. but listening to him on Monday Night Football was awful... he is soo annoying and offered nothing to the broadcast.. they couldn't have replaced him sooner!!!
Anyways, not a huge Kornheiser fan... but I wish they could just find someone and keep them on longer than a season.
What I don't get is why they believe that a 3-man booth MUST BE DONE on MNF.
Tirico and Jaws would have been just fine by me.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
