    Johnson

Im not saying that we drafted the wrong guy, but for all of those who doubted OLB Derrick Johnson look at his week one stats:

8 tackles, 1 sack and a forced fumble.

I don'd doubt him and never did. He will be a great player. The crazy thing is that we were close to snagging him at 18. That would have been the SOD.

    Re: Johnson

I never doubted him. Dick Vermiel said that not only will he be the defensive rookie of the year, but that he wouldn't be surpised if he got the defensive mvp period.

Yah I was praying for him to drop to 18, and it almost seemed like he was going to, alas.

we should have picked him up. he would have done alot better than those ghosts N. Harris and Sam Cooart.

Ya whats the deal with Nappo, I dont remeber seeing him at all sunday. Cowart has a minor injury. and actually espn said DJ had 10 tackles..just to make him that better. THeres no doubt hes gonna be a special guy in the nfl. maybe next year the vikes can get aj hawk

I was hopin he would have dropped to us at 18...a month before the draft I was thinking take Johnson at 7 and Clayton at 18..but we're fine with what we have. Studwell has been doin a good job so i don't doubt who we drafted.
    Thanks MF

I was a huge DJ supporter.. I really really wanted him.. Me and that one dude with the DJ sig.. Everyone said he had tackling problems but it doesn't seem like it.. The dude is a beast & I wish we had him.. But im cool with Erasmus I think

    Re: Johnson

Well, with the way the offense is shaping out, we're going to need a WR with speed, and Troy has alot of it. He wouldn't have slipped to 18.

    DJ is great though.

I would have been happy with either pick.
