Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets C Kevin Mawae will be released in the coming days, according to his agent Mark Bartelstein.

Wow, thats crazy, u never let a guy like him go.

We all seen what loosing birk for the season did to our oline, i guess maybe they got someone they like in the draft. Tough tough loss.

I don't think Minnesota should make a play at him, if Birk can come back and be affective, like i think he will, then we won't need another good C!!!

Right on.. Birk will come back better than ever and hungry to get back on that field.. We also look to be going after other O-Lineman that have experience at C. Whittle who we just signed has experience at C and T. We look good so far..

I'de still take Bentley over Mawae......More years left on the Bentley engine.

This isn't good news for college Centers in the draft though, could drop there pick #s down meaning less money.....

Usually not a really big need for centers out there, I personaly like Centers who are also strong at guard also.....Just like Bentley...

Plus I think Fowler is going to get offers and end up taking a hike also...

As usualy Ned, you are right on the money! I'd take Bentley in a heartbeat because he can back up Birk if he get's hurt or play guard and several years left in him.
Saying that I doubt whether we will pick him up though. We can just hope.
