I read that Jeff George is looking for someone to give him a shot, says he still has it in him. What that is I don't know, but at this point I think the more options the better. Sounds like a joke I know, but what do you have to lose, if he doesn't cut it he's gone. Probably is a stretch, but competition weeds out the weak.

There are so many reasons why this is hilarious.

You may be thinking, 'oh, it's been a few years.
But 41 is not that old.'
It has been 8 years!
The last time he played in a professional game was September 2001.
Think about where you were then and how much has happened since then.
Heck, Ladainian Tomlinson and Tom Brady have pretty much had Hall of Fame careers in that time.
Jeff George hasn't played a lick for eight years.
He was signed by a few teams since then but never even made it on the field.

But now he says he's physically as good as ever, and he has the tape to prove it

There's only one problem with this: Jeff George was never good.

In his 12 year career, he only managed 2 seasons with more wins than losses, 3 seasons with 60% or better completion percentage, and 2 seasons with a QB rating over 90.


George's problem was never his arm strength.
Pretend he does still have it as he claims.
Has he learned how to read defenses?
Has his accuracy improved?
Will he be any more mature as a teammate based on everything you've heard him say in the media over the past few years?

And then there's the Vikings angle.

A year or two ago, George decided he should make a comeback, and the Vikings were the team for him.
He went ahead and blasted the Vikings' players at the time in the press in order to ingratiate himself to the team.
Then Childress shot back with a pretty classy reply that George didn't particularly like.

So this would be the last team to look at him.

You know what though, it would be awesome to watch George try and prove everyone who thinks like me wrong.

I'd like to see him in the UFL.
He excites me more than Brooks Bollinger quarterbacking a team.
