Re: Jay Cutler on the block?

Michael Smith on ESPN said that the Broncos were shopping the three team deal around to try and get Cassel from the Pats for their first rounder and then ship Cutler to the Bucs, Vikes, etc. for their first rounder.
I don't know if the Pats nixed this up front (I think the deal with the Chiefs was good for them because they clearly wanted to unload to cap numbers in a deal with Vrabel) but if the Pats were willing players ... I a surprised we were not willing to part with pick No. 22 for Jay Cutler. I know that Childress likes Sage and all ... but I am guessing this deal would have been in place before the Sage deal and we could have stayed out of that one.
Not exactly sure, may be talking out of my ass ... but that is a good source saying the Broncs shopped Cutler our way.

    damn...
I wonder if we would have agreed to that if New England would...

Hell, 1st rounder and Sage Rosenfels for Cutler right now.

(We've had the guy for a day and I'm already trading him...)

I find this whole discussion very interesting.
Can't remember the last time there was a multiple team trade in the NFL.

    CAP implications.
From what I can gather, efforts to reduce by the Pats included Vrabel om the trade that way.
Bucs shitcanned all thier dead weight so I am sure they didn't want him and the Vikes definately didn't want him.

Might have been some left over anomosity towards us from the Pats because of Mills.

Any number of things that went on in the background could have made it more or less attractive for any number or reasons.....

My guess is that kindof stuff is what stopped us from getting seriously in the mix instead of our staffs love for any one QB currently on the roster, Sage included.

Jay Cutler Stamping His Feet & Holding His Breath

So, after having his new bosses go behind his back, Jay Cutler is demanding a trade? While there’s a lot of reasons why the Jets should trade for Cutler (performance, cannon arm, etc.) just know that he’s not well respected by his peers.

Kindof thought this issue might get a bit more interesting and warranted a thread of its own.

    ???

Why didn't you post it here?

    http://www.purplepride.org/forums/index.php?topic=50759.0

You already know a Cutler trade thread exists on this. You posted in it. We don't need 2 of them & have to go thru the fiasco we went thru yesterday.

Cutler told Mike Klis of the Denver Post that he enjoyed his time with the Broncos but believes the new regime in Denver -- led by head coach Josh McDaniels -- has decided to move on without him....

I think Cutler and Housh are the missing pieces for this team. If we got both theres no way that any team in the NFC can even compare. I just hope the Vikes are interested in Cutler and willing to give up a good deal for him.
