Wow, it doesn't seem that long ago when he was the back up QB to Aikman.

Fast Track!

It DOESN'T SAY HE WAS HIRED! It says he is expected to be hired. See the story here:

He's got a lot of work ahead of him
1. QB
2. WR
3. Do they have a TE that's ever healthy?
4. Their defense isn't getting any younger, and really started to show their age throughout the year.

GARRETT HIRED?

There’s a somewhat confusing report on Comcast SportsNet MidAtlantic (they need a longer name) that Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has been hired as the new coach of the Ravens.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Ups. Read the update.

GARRETT HIRE “NOT EVEN CLOSE”
Posted by Mike Florio on January 15, 2008, 1:44 p.m.

Despite reports that the Ravens have offered their head-coaching job to Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, a source with knowledge of the situation says
that the deal is “not even close” to being finalized.

Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Garrett is “60-40″ leaning toward taking the job.

Werder also reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has told Garrett that he would match whatever financial offer the Ravens make.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

I should have known this thread was bull by the typos, and the fact that Garrett is the Offensive, not Defensive Coordinator.

Well it's not complete bull. There has apparently been negotiations. And even if it's bull in the sense that he has not been hired (yet), he might be eventually.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Nice list.
Here is what I put out in another thread when I broke all the teams down.

6.
Baltimore Ravens -
Team Needs: QB CB OLB ILB DE DT
They really need to address their QB situation in this draft.
Maybe not at this position but someplace in the draft.
Probably take the best defensive guy here.
In my first round mock I have them taking Calais Campbell, DE.

I might want to change that if in fact he is the guy.
He might try to sway the front office to get him a QB early.

1 Miami Dolphins Glen Dorsey, DT
2 St. Louis RamsJake Long, OT
3 Atlanta Falcons Brian Brohm, QB
4 Oakland Raiders Chris Long, DE
5 Kansas City Chiefs Matt Ryan, QB
6 New York Jets Darren, McFadden, RB
7 New England Patriots (from 49ers) I had these guys taking Laurinaitisbut now that he isn't declaring I am not sure who/what they will pick there. Still might be LB (Dan Connor).

Maybe if KC is happy with Croyles then Ryan might slip to them.
Still to early to tell.

As to if this is bunk or not, I don't care. I like it when teams start bringing new blood, new ideas and quit recycling all the old has beens.
If it isn't here, he will land someplace soon.

As they said on Sirius radio yesterday after Dallas's loss somebody is gonna get alot of heat for that loss.

Garret might as well jump the ship now.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
