Jaguars DE suggests that the refs at the Colts-Jags game were paid off

I didn't see the game.Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer suggested after Sunday's loss at Indianapolis that the officials gave the game to the Colts.
"We are in Indianapolis. [Bill] Polian [the Colts' general manager] give them a little extra in the check,' Spicer said, per Vito Stellino of the Times-Union.
You can bet that the suggestion that a general manager is buying off the officials by putting something extra in their checks will result in Spicer's next paycheck being quite a bit smaller.
Was the officiating really bad enough for a player to go and make comments like this, or is he just being stupid?Zeus wrote:

I didn't catch it either, I'm sure it will be a big story this week.
Side note-Did anyone see the Rutgers Louisville game. Some of the worst officiating I've seen, going both ways.

Is there another spot on this planet where a referee can impact a game so much?

Just because it happens doesn't mean people shouldn't want the officials to get right, or be angry that the ref's are bad at their jobs and should be evaluated.
A bad call cost Cleveland the game, so no I won't get over refs who won't get the call right.

NFL Officials are graded after every game.
Every single call and non-call is reviewed by the office of officiating and the mistakes are recorded.
The crews with the least mistakes overall get to work the playoffs, and the individual officials with the least mistakes get to work the superbowl.
I believe there is also a minimum performance level that each official has to attain in order to return the following year.Zeus wrote:
