The Dallas Cowboys say there will be no blackout of Sunday's home opener against the New York Giants.

The NFL agrees the team probably will not be blacked out at all during the 2009 season.

The senior vice presidents of public relations for the NFL, and the league's director of corporate communications told CBS 11 Wednesday night that there are seats that still need to be sold for Sunday's game against the Giants, and that the league has not officially ruled out a blackout.
That there is any doubt at all this game will sell-out is amazing.

    =Z=
    That is unbelievable.
I would have thought this game sold out back in July.
    Crazy.
I'm guessing it's a similar situation to what the Yankees had going on with there place. Crazy high prices. Especially when you factor in the PSL for the seats, good seats probably cost more than a house and nosebleeds probably require a second mortgage. Looking at stub hub upper level for the opener start at about $100. Actually a good thing, when the Vikings play there someday I'd love to go check out that stadium.
The opener is against the Giants, you would think that along with being the opener of the new stadium would be more than enough to sell it out. It would be great if it was blacked out.

The good seats are only $3400 a year, with a one time payment of $150,000.

Club seats are also $3400 a year, with a one time payment of 16-50,000.

Loge seats $1250, $12,000 one time payment.

Better start saving up some cash in case the Vikings ever get a new stadium.

It's unbelievable that they've sold nearly 100,000 tickets to this game yet they are still at risk of blacking out.
    Doesn't even seem right.

Where did you get that number? I didn't think the stadium was that big.
Just saw this at the end of the article.
As of 10:45 Wednesday evening tickets were still available through dallascowboys.com.
The cheapest seats available cost $239.
With taxes and fees, the total price for two tickets comes to just under $494.
That cost does not include parking, food or drink.

They have standing room only for like 25 or 30,000 people.
You pay like 25 bucks to get in and you basically get to watch on the huge jumbotron.
From what I heard on the radio it sounded like selling these standing room only "seats" counted towards the blackout number even if they didn't sell the expensive luxury seats.
Vague information I know...just repeating what I heard on ESPN radio yesterday, and again on KFAN this morning.

They said they are on pace to set an NFL attendance record for their home opener.
Just bizzare that even on the verge of setting an all time NFL attendance record (beating out the game in Mexico City last season) that they are at risk of blackout.
