I actually thought that he might like to go HOME. I just didn't see any print on it.

I think he'd do well. He'd at least be able to get a decent coching staff to work with for a change.

He was 9-7 this year without a fulltime OC & O-Line coach & poh for assistant coaches, whereas the Jets were 4-12. Not bad cosidering he went straight from an OL coach to HC.

He will learn & get better & the Jets might see that in him.

Plus he played a role in bringing in a lot of talent into Minny while still retaining a lot of cap space along with Rob's help.
I don't know about all that...the Jets owner is pretty stupid and the GM is a total idiot!

But I do hope that he gets the job and shows that he is a qualified Head Coach...and that Red really did give him a raw deal!

Here he is folks ........ He has a 1 in 3 shot at getting the job as it looks like he is on the short list with Hasslett and Vitt :

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Jan. 9, 2006) -- Looking to replace Herman Edwards, the New York Jets are talking to Jim Haslett, Mike Tice and Joe Vitt, all of whom were head coaches in the NFL this season.

The Jets will interview Mike Tice for their head coaching position.
This seems like a disturbingly natural fit. Tice, a Long Island native, is one of five confirmed interviewees in New York.

Tice, who is from Long Island, also has some admirers in the organization, despite the turmoil he endured in Minnesota this season.

Try 1 in 8 chance to get the job! With Mangini as the supposed favorite!

Tim Lewis (Giants), Mike Sherman (Packers), Jim Skipper (Panthers), Jim Fassel (Ravens), and Eric Mangini (Patriots) are also on the list.

Herm sucks. Thats why they shipped his azzz to KC. The vikings were 9-7 and the Jets were 3-12 or something like that. I have no idea why herman edwards gets all kinds of props for being a good coach. He ain't no better than tice.

I hope tice gets the job as the Jets coach. We play the Jets at home next year so it should be fun to have big mike back.

It would be even greater if we stomp the Jets into the ground (though I thought Tice was ok)

Tice went through his learning curve with us...and then we shipped him out. He will own at his next HC job. And the NY Press vs. Mike Tice would be a ton of fun, and create great, wonderful quotes...LOL!

He's gotten arguably less talented teams to the playoffs more than Tice has, 'nuff said.

I love Herm. Hes been plagued with bad QB situations for the last couple years. Hes my second favorite coach (you know who number 1 is!)

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!
