Its NFL at Wembley this weekend so....

means it's times for the annual rumors/speculation about a future NFL franchise in the UK that appear at this time of the year

I almost forgot about it until I heard them say something on NFLN yesterday.......Wonder why there hasn't been much play or hype on this one, especially considering how quick it sold out.

well it has been quieter on the media this side. The last couple of years the teams have flown over early in the week but I think the Pats are arriving today in the UK and not sure when the Bucs were arriving.

The fans are up for it though it may not seem like a home game for the Bucs - not that will affect their performance

I don't know why they speculate about a UK franchise. Seriously how would it work? Teams flying 7 or 8 hours to play a game to fly back home for another 8 hours to get ready for another game.

I would love to see it especially if it meant seeing the Vikings play again but I don't think it would ever happen.

agreed we struggled to keep the Monarchs going after the first year. Given the growing pains an expansion team has then the crowds will tail off quickly.

Yeah ... it is 7 hours with a layover on a commercial plane. Players don't deal with layovers.
And a trip from San Diego to London would be extremely long.

My guess (and my point) is that the flight/times aren't an issue.

In the long run it all comes down to $$$.
If a team were put over there it would probably be put in a div (NFC/AFC) on the east coast and the games would be played so that they could maximize the U.S. east coast time zones.

Long story short, I can see this happening.
Not sure how popular it would be in the states with most fans but I bet the team would have a huge (talking huge) following overseas.

Heard that London is supposed to be really nice. Would love to go there! And see an NFL game overseas. But the Pats will beat the Bucs badly!

Until travelling becomes easier, overseas just would not make sense. If they had a whole division over there, maybe it could workl
