Thread: I couldn't be happier about how this season turned out

Of course, mostly because the Vikings are in the playoffs.
But what a fantastic season it's been around the NFL.
You've got the Falcons, Dolphins, and Ravens getting in with huge turnaround seasons.
And you've got the Cowgirls, Pats, Jets, Packers, and Bears missing the playoffs.
Being from Texas, I'm especially happy that Dallas self-destructed.
The only team I wish didn't get in the playoffs were the Chargers, and that j~~~~~~s Phillip Rivers.
The rest of the playoff teams are oddly likable.


It's funny I feel this way, considering I'm usually extremely purple-minded.
I don't usually focus on other teams.
But it's just...refreshing I guess.
Good year for the underdogs.

I agree! The Packers and Favre both not making the playoffs is awesome. And I'm happy about the turn around of the Falcons because Arthur Blank seems like a good guy that got screwed over by people like Petrino and Vick and now they're better off without both of 'em.

You're exactly right about the Falcons situation.
The Falcons are so much better off without that idiot Petrino, and Vick.
They'd be 4-12 if he was still their coach.

The season is not over. I would not be happy if we don't win, at least, the first playoff game, and play tough in the second. I had expectations of winning the North before the season started, so this is just as I thought. To be happy, need a bit more. Afterall, 4 Super Bowl losses and a multitude of NFC championship losses have innured me to simply getting in the playoffs. I have always expected to get in the playoffs. I need to see success in the playoffs, or a VERY good showing to carry over into a Championship next season. Just getting in? Pooh! That's good enough for the Cardinals. My purple blood wants to see some domination!

Great post hornedhat! We need to win games in the playoffs as opposed to just being satisfied at getting in.

I too, however, am happy that both the cheesedicks and favre did not make the playoffs! No first round pick for the cheesedicks from the jets! hahaha

I should have let it be known that I was talking about the regular season.
I had and still have high expectations for the Vikings season.
If they lose the first postseason game I would fire Childress in a second.
And depending on how things turn out I might would do it anyway.
The way he handled the end of yesterday's game had me steaming.
But, we still have great personnel, and maybe Childress can't even screw that up.

Regardless, the regular season was a very good one.

I would swallow my pride if that happened.

hahaha, I think most people of viking fandom would have to agree with that!

If Chiller won a Super Bowl (in spite of himself), I'd say he gets a pass for a few years, maybe not forever, but a few years.
