    Re: Hutchinson tagged with Transition

Let's make him a pretty good offer...the worst that could happen is that Seattle would have to eat up some more of their salary cap to keep him!
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

We could still get him. It depends on if the Hawks want to go long term with him. If we offered him a good contract he may sign our offer sheet, forcing the Hawks to either put up or shut up.

He's not worth a big contract AND a 1st rounder.

That was my first thought too. It would be easy enough with the Vikings Cap room. I'm not sure about the Seahawks current Cap situation, but the Vikings are in the top 5 in the league of highest Cap room in this Off-Season. But there must be a point where you have to say: No, this is too much to pay.

Although.. Him and Bryant McKinnie on the left with Birk in the middle? We could take the Seahawks signature play (the run to the left of the Offensive Line) and make it our own!

He's a great player for sure, and the best guard out there, but is he worth 6 mil. a year plus?.......I don't think so..

We could get a very solid guard and a solid backup for less than that...

We have to work our own cap also to keep strong like we sit now..

I can think other places I'de rather spend the big bucks on.....

no draft pick with the transition tag. Only the franchise tag we would have to give up picks. We hit B. Williams with the same tag.

    Re: Hutchinson tagged with Transition

    Here is the transition tag.

    • A transition player designation gives the club a first-refusal right to match within seven days an offer sheet given to the player by another club after his contract expires. If the club matches, it retains the player. If it does not match, it receives no compensation. Transition players can be signed from March 3 through July 22."
