And above 50% completion percentage is not that good and a 84 QB rating is not either ... actually his completion percentage is REALLY low ... the pace of 28 TDs is fairly solid as is the 3600 yard pace and only a 10 INT pace ... it really is not much of an "accomplishment" of any sort. There are plenty of QBs who have done as well in their second year ... (ahem ... Daunte Culpepper) and there are plenty who have done worse (take Joey Harrington for instance). I think Manning will be a top 10 QB for most of his career, but calling a average season an accomplishment just because he is in his second year is really a little silly."Rookie444" wrote:
I HATE ELI MANNING. HE IS A *** AND SUCKS AT THE QB POSITION. HE GOT A 51% PASSING COMPLETION AND A 84.3 PASSER RATING. THE MEDIA IS MAKING HIM OUT TO BE SOMETHING HE JUST ISN'T AND WILL NEVER BE. HE IS TOO MUCH OF A gol 'darnit CRYBABY AND SD SHOULD'VE KEPT HIM AND BENCHED HIS jiggly butt THE WHOLE SEASON FOR TALKIN THAT pooh DURING THE DRAFT. THAT INSTANCE MADE ME HATE HIM PERMANENTLY. BEING A DRAFTEE, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO CHOICE IN WHAT TEAM YOU PLAY FOR. THAT WHAT MAKES COLLEGE COLLEGE AND THE NFL THE NFL. (CAPS IS ON FOR A REASON, I REALLY CAN'T STAND THIS ***)!
quaterback envy maybe? an above 50% completion above 80 qb rating over 10 TD's and a 6-2 record all before he has started a full seasons worth of game... if you cant recognize that as an accomplisment then you know nothing about football

First of all, no. It's not race.Eli Manning said he would not play for the Chargers if they drafted him, essentialy coercing the team into trading him to the Giants. Its interesting to see how everyone is ripping TO for being self-righteous as well. I know Manning didn't quite receive the negetive press TO is getting right now. I realize these are not two completely parallel issues, but I thought it might make for some interesting discussion.
Any thoughts? Does this boil down to race (not to seem propagandaish)? or are these issues not completely parallel? Or is it because Eli is a Manning and well TO is TO? Or what? Thoughts?
Secondly, I really disliked Manning for a while for doing that. Personally I believe you should play where you are drafted. Otherwise we're going to set a precedent for skipping out on bad teams, and we won't need a draft because rookies will just choose where to go. It's not unheard of however, Elway did the same exact thing back in'83.
Third, T.O. has had a history of saying stupid stuff that distracts from the team. It's like being a criminal. First time you get some punishment, but mainly a slap on the wrist. Second time it's a little worse, but they let you off again. Third time, they throw the book at you. T.O. said something stupid one too many times.

Now TO has Jesse Jackson backing him up.
Good old Jackson so concerned for TO and his well being. Where was he when Keyshawn was suspended, I guess Keyshawn wasn't black enough to help out.
If you read the interview it becomes clear Jesse Jackson should just STFU because he has no idea what he is talking about in regards to this situation.
