Re: How ALL sports contracts should be written
Clarett was a joke at the combine, and still buys into the notion he could have gone into the 1st round.

Re: How ALL sports contracts should be written
Sounds like a Put up or Shut up deal to me,,,,Maybe more contracts should be based on how one playes and produces...
at the same time, you slack off or don't play well, your pocket will feel it also. Not just the team...
I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

Re: How ALL sports contracts should be written
The twist is that Clarett insisted on this structure...at least he has the conviction in his abilities...RIGHT OR WRONG...I admire that...even if he falls on his face.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Re: How ALL sports contracts should be written
Not a good deal for Clarett, if he goes down with a carear ending injury he'll be asking "do you want fries with that?" for the rest of his life---not that theres anything wrong with that. Also with these cheepass owners they could pull him if he was getting close to a big payout - as long as it did not effect the outcome of a big game or two. I think you need to gaurentee something and then load with incentives. Plus how dose Denver make sure they are under the cap?

That's a great idea for a contract, except NO other pro athlete except for the desperate maurice clarett would sign it.
