Mark Gaughan, of the Buffalo News, reports Buffalo Bills defensive line coach Bill Kollar was one of two assistant coaches invited to address the league's powerful competition committee about the state of holding calls in football. That's a good indication of how respected Kollar is around the league. Kollar said one of the big conclusions from the video sessions with the competition committee is the officials need to be reminded they need to see "the totality of the play." "The big one is if a defensive lineman goes to the ground, they always seem to call that a hold, and sometimes it isn't holding," Kollar said. "To call that holding, they told the officials they've got to see the whole play."

Is he the same one that came up with the "horse Kollar" rule? :grin:

i think the offensive lineman and defensive lineman need to stop whining and just play football

if either grad ahold with a closed fist, its holding..

if they throw the other lineman out of the way, or on the ground, GOD FORBID! too bad, its football, let them have contact, and let holding be just that, somebody holding onto somebody else

Umm no the d-line can grab and hold the o-line as much as they want.

I hate holding calls....it just seems they always come at the BIGGEST times during the game. (see the Super Bowl for reference)

my opinion is that the rule should be changed.. holding is holding, no matter who does it IMO
