Eh ... while both of these guys are Vikings greats, I don't think either should be in the hall of fame. I mean Foreman never ran for more than 1155 yards in a year and never even led his own CONFERENCE in rushing (never finished higher than 5th in the NFL).
He only made on All-Pro squad and he only had five or six productive years, none of which were spectacular. He is 71st in all-time rushing yards and 48th in rushing TDs ... he will never sniff the hall of fame.

Joey has a much better argument and probably should have at least got a mention a few more times, but he had the horrible luck of playing at the same time as Ronnie Lott. Safeties simply are not sexy hall of fame choices. He just does not have the Int/Fumble recovery numbers needed to wow voters and he lacks a ring or even a Super Bowl appearance. He is just not in the same league as Krause, Lott, Lary, Wood and the others that grace the halls of Canton.

Should they both be in?
Probably not, however,
hard to compare numbers for the older players against the current crop.

For what Chuck and Joey did in their respective era's not only league wide but within the limits of the teams schemes they both should get a nod or at least make the list.

sorry, but i can't see Chuck Foreman as HOF material.
He never really had outstanding seasons, he didn't have a long or great career.
You can't compare him to some of the all-time greats.
yes, I've seen him run, and he's definetally great, but he didn't make an impact like some of the other great runningbacks have.
You do realize the impact he had on the way RB's now play the game right?

His pass-catching ability out of the backfield, combined with the ability to make the first tackler miss, was a key in the Minnesota Viking offense, which was sort of a pre-cursor of the West Coast Offense which became popular in the following decades.

The game was played a bit differently then, seasons were shorter (14 games) etc etc etc.

Does he deserve to be in?
As I said earlier, probably not, but he should be at least considered.

Four Vikings Make Cut for Hall of Fame Voting

The NFL recently announced its 25 semi-finalists for the Hall of Fame voting that will take place over Super Bowl weekend.
Four members of the Minnesota Vikings made the cut, and not surprisingly, they all have very strong cases as to why they should be considered for enshrinement in Canton...

It is fitting John Randle will be inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor on Sunday when his former team plays the Bears....

The man speaks the truth!
Browner was everything Sharper was and more!
People feared Joey Browner, he was so strong he could pull most guys down with one arm.
He ended poor Gerald Wilhites career a Rb for the broncos on one such hit.
