I can feel for the kid. 2 years now he's proven he can do something that's helped the team WIN games.

he's put the team on his shoulders several times and carried that weight. now he's seeing kids come into the leage without touching a snap and getting the same money has him.. not cause they are elite.. cause he is still being paid. chump change compared to what he could be.

ok, i would still say he signed it. deal with it for now. but. by making your story clear now he would have a better foothold. by staying out of camp i thin he hurts himself as much as hurting the team. does he deserve the extention.. yes. will he get it/.
probably not asmuch as he could if he made it look like they were the bad guys, instead of looking like the selfish pro who wants more.

Hester is already back in camp...

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - Chicago Bears kick return star Devin Hester returned to training camp Friday, but the team did not say whether he had signed a new contract.

Bears ink Hester to extension

The Chicago Bears signed star kick returner Devin Hester to an undisclosed four-year contract extension Sunday.

Hester, who has two years remaining on the original four-year deal he signed as a rookie, sat out the first two days of training camp because he was unhappy with his deal.

He'd better show that he can contribute on offense as a receiver before i'd give him any money

He deserves a serious contract extension.(and he got one)

He's the best players on the bears except for arguably Urlacher.

The best in the league, the best ever at his position.

And making the same amount as guys drafted in the 5th and 6th rounds of the draft.

Despite being a special teams player who contributes minimally everywhere else, he deserves more money.

But not a big fat contract...
What if he loses the magic? then you can't use him as CB, WR and KR/PR
He deserved more than he did but not as much as any starter in the NFL

Oh yeah, I'm not talking elite WR/CB money, but he most definitely deserved more than the $445,000 he was making.

I wouldn't give him as much as Marty Booker for example. I know field position is important but if you can't contribute on offense as a WR or defense as a CB ( that's what he got drafted for right? ) you shouldn't earn more than those guys

I disagree.

Fact of the matter is, he makes plays for the bears. He's the one bright spot on a horrendous offense, that only got worse over the off-season.

I don't know what kind of money Dante Hall makes, but I think they should pay him that +25-50%.
