Don't rush to judge Mario Williams, last year's No. 1 overall draft pick. Sure, it would be easy to brand him as a bust based on his rookie season. But we're putting him on our defensive all-breakout team for 2007....

Re: Here's your defensive all-breakout team
Ray Edwards is a future Pro Bowler, IMHO.Vikings coordinator Leslie Frazier, who has been around many good pass rushers as both a player and coach, thinks Ray Edwards can be special. Edwards lacks experience and needs to improve against the run, but he is quick off the snap, has some countermoves and can change direction without losing speed. Edwards will get a bunch of playing time -- as a starter if Erasmus James hasn't recovered from a knee injury or as part of the line rotation.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Here's your defensive all-breakout team
That's good stuff, Ray only needed a chance, and with a year under his belt should be a big factor in improving our pass rush. We have debth and will be able to put pressure on the QB with guys coming off the bench with fresh legs. A strong rotation will keep our starters fresh into the fourth qtr.

It may be to early to call Mario Williams a bust, I agree.
But the Texans drafting him over Reggie Bush was a huge bust.
I hope Edwards turns into a great DE.
