Thirty-one years ago, when HBO first showed "Inside the NFL," it was just about the only show of its kind on television.....

Former Vikings receiver Cris Carter will have to look elsewhere if he wants to remain an NFL analyst in 2008....

Good show but hasn't been relevant in a long time.

I like anything that Costas does, of course, but I thought the chemistry between Marino, Collinsworth and Carter was pretty darn good.
Light-hearted, good highlights with NFL Films love all over it and smart banter.
Bad move by HBO.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Cris and Cris were the best part of the show...contributed more insight than the others. Costas, even though I'm not a fan, did a pretty good job of moderating.
Also, it seems whenever I watched the show to see Vikings highlights, they were either not shown, or the emphasis was misdirected (like with the game at Soldier Field). I'm sure it's my imagination, but that's how I've always felt.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Costas turned into an ass over the last 5 years.
Either that or he has just become comfortable to let his true self shine through.
He was a prima dona.
I used to love Costas, but his inability to loosen up with those guys made him look above them.
He was a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.
I do agree with the other 3 guys having good chemistry.
I liked watching the show, just didn't tune in regularly.

Even after my Costas rant, I will miss the show.
I remember watching the show back before ESPN was the BOMB.
With ESPN and NFLN right now, there is a more consistent stream/source of NFL news.
I can see where they see the need to cut the program.

Re: HBO pulls the plug on 'Inside the NFL'
I thought this was one of the best NFL shows ever shown.
Granted I didn't watch it much because I've rarely been an HBO subscriber, but the layout was great.
I loved how they showed the clips from every game of the week, and the voice-over made it sound like an NFL classic film.
The insight from the guys was pretty good and overall the show was entertaining.
It's too bad they couldn't move this show over to NFLN or ESPN.
I'd rather watch this than some of the other existing programming.

Re: HBO pulls the plug on 'Inside the NFL'
Damn this sucks.
I watch this program every week.
I've had HBO for close to 3 years solid and always loved the program.
I understand where they are coming from but it's too bad the best NFL show in the bizz has been canceled.
So now I get the 30 minute NFL Live show which really calculates to about 13 minutes of actual football talk after all the fricken commercials and they NEVER touch base on the Vikings organization but once a every 3 months or so, unless A.D. had a huge game, then they would talk about them for about 2 minutes or less.
Oh wait, I could always get the NFL network and have to change my entire technology scenario in my home just to get it.....Yeah thats not happening.
