    Dynasty, shynasty....

While long suffering Vikings fans have zero world championship trophies and now more than a 30 year drought in reaching the Super Bowl, one thing Vikings fans have reasonably enjoyed since the arrival of Bud Grant is a competitive team, year in and year out.
Yeah, we have a bump in the road occasionally, but what is it...only five times in the past 40+ seasons that the Vikings have had less than 7 wins in a full season?
Less than 6 wins only twice in that same span?

Meanwhile, look at what some of those other dynastic teams have done.
San Francisco, after the departure of Steve Young and company...losing records in eight of the last ten years, including four seasons of 5 wins or less....

The Cowboys had six wins or less four times in a five year stretch, and just two winning seasons in an eight year stretch.
And just prior to the Aikman-Smith-Irvin era, they suffered through four consecutive losing seasons that included a two year stretch that saw them win a total of just four games.

Between Lombardi and the arrival of Brett Favre, the Packers had just 5 seasons with winning records over a 24 year period (though to be fair, they did have four 8-8 finishes which means they only had a losing record in 15 of those 24 years
    : )
Thank you purplepat, I keep telling everyone here (CHI-GB-STL-DAL-SF fans you get the idea) that the Vikings are the most exciting team in the NFL.
All I get in response is "How many SB's have the Vikes won?"
    It gets old.

Yes vegasvike, Clemens is a cheater, and to jump in to another conversation I read, so are the Patriots under Billicheat.
The New England dynasty is over... hooray!

Have we seen the end of the New England dynasty?
Cold, Hard Football Facts for July 22, 2009

Is the New England dynasty over? It’s one of the burning issues in pro football as Tom Brady, Bill Belichick & Co. prepare to enter training camp and prepare to reset the clock after a disastrous 2008 calendar year.

We don't know the answer, really. But we do know that nothing lasts forever – not even seemingly indestructible pro football dynasties.
    Interesting article.

    =Z=
: I quit reading right there.

Yup! Disastrous. How else would one describe an 11-5 season? Might as well gut the team & start rebuilding right now.

    What a fucking yutz!

    * The Packers won five NFL championships in the seven years before losing to the Vikings.

    * The Packers have won one NFL championship in the 40 years since losing to the Vikings.
Nah, it still highlights the fact that the Packers have indeed won championships.

    So say nothing at all?
    Flush that.

We as Viking fans need to recognize the fact that Green Bay has a few championships.
Just as we need to recognize how the Vikings put an end to their reign.
