    Harrington endorses Marinelli

I'm not so sure this is a good thing. A guy that stunk it up in Detroit that was given away for peanuts is endorsing the HC as he starts his new gig in Miami? If I was Marinelli I would be praying for Harrington to keep his mouth shut.

Lions | Harrington feels Marinelli will be good for Detroit
    Thu, 18 May 2006 13:15:44 -0700

Miami Dolphins QB Joey Harrington talked about his time with the Detroit Lions and said that head coach Rod Marinelli will change the overall attitude of the team. "I really believe that in order to change results you have to change your attitude," he said. "It's funny, I was criticized when I came in because I was too positive, I was too upbeat, I was too optimistic. It always really confused me. Why would you criticize somebody for trying to change the way that things have been? In my time there, I don't think that the attitude ever changed. I really do think that Coach Marinelli is going to be great for that team. I really do. He's a very tough, hard-nosed kind of guy. He is somebody who is going to change those attitudes that need to be changed. I wish him nothing but the best."

Harrington said it, so it must be true.

Our year just got a whole lot harder.

Harrington will end his career just like Rick Mirer, an effective spot starter, but a a career backup.

He's not their anymore, so he will say anything. So he doesn't have anything to complain about with the Lions.

He's only saying what he thinks the public wants to hear, and based on his limied contact with Marinelli, Harrington probably thinks he's an okay guy.. Apart from the fact he didn't tell Harrington that he was unwanted and signed 2 mediocre-to-poor quarterbacks while he was on holiday.

My advice would be not to read too deeply into his comments, unless a player has a MAJOR falling-out with the staff (Terrell Owens, Culpepper, etc), they're going to dispense the bland compliments as they're packing up their stuff and heading out the door.
