Handful of Lions considered trade bait
Handful of Lions considered trade bait

Though in-season NFL trades are a rarity, four team executives talked to Yahoo! Sports about players they believe should be dealt prior to the deadline next Tuesday.
The executives agreed that the only teams that should really be cleaning house at this point are the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams. Even though the Houston Texans are 0-4, many observes believe they will rebound and play well. Furthermore, the Texans don’t have many players who should just be dumped, aside from running back Ahman Green.
Best potential fits for us:

Shiancoe has been disappointing. He's starting to come along. Though it would be nice to have Gonzalez probably wont happen nor would it be worth what we give, but it would be nice
;D.

Re: Handful of Lions considered trade bait
if guys like that got moved, it would be more like the mlb trade deadline.
it would be interesting to see though if these teams are so desperate to get guys out, and there value isnt as high as it once was, if at least one name got moved.
i read today that the niners are real interested in tj hous too, but probably unlikely.
its hard though cuz so many teams feel like its gonna take time for anyone new to step in, and how long it takes for them to get up to speed midseason.
you would have to feel like you are real close to going to a super bowl to make a move.
either that or a guy is just too good of a bargain to pass up at the time.

posted this already...it was very interesting though.
Why would we be more interested in Ocho Cinco than Housh.
I mean seriously this organization has been all about character ever since the love boat scandal and those damn Randy Moss/Daunte Culpepper trades.
What makes these so called "experts" think we would be willing to grab Chad over Housh is beyond me."There are 3 things that sell in America:

but is ocho really that bad of a character?
he just has a big mouth, but he goes out and does his job for the most part, and does it well.
we can't get in the mode of what the media really did to moss and ended up forcing him outta town.
i mean what has johnson really ever done besides promote himself.
moss got crap for saying he was gonna win a super bowl one way or another.
that he squirted water on a ref.
that he said he played when he wants to play.
and cuz he walked off the field with 2 seconds left.
oh, and he fake mooned the packer fans.
most of all this stuff got blown outta proportion and made him look as if he was a serial killer instead of just the typical cocky nfl wr.
now he did have that one arrest which i think got dropped, but when you think about the perception of him as opposed to the reality and what he brought to our team, there was no reason he should have ever worn anything but purple.
besides that, i'd kinda like to see more of allison and rice.
whos to say some of these young guys can't be very good players?
maybe since we look committed to throwing the ball more often each week now, these guys will start to emerge a bit.
