Halfway through the season, who is the MVP?

I think it is a really tight race between the first three QBs.
I would give the slight edge to Peyton Manning because I believe he is working with the least amount of talent.
Brees is amazing, and Favre is perhaps the most important addition made to any team this season.
This one might come down to the wire.

I think its hard to argue anyone but Brees at this point... he's tied for the lead in touchdowns, and honestly he's making the saints what they are right now

i think the last line would work for Favre and Manning too.
Favre undoubtedly has more talent around him, which is why I don't argue for him.
I believe Manning has less talent around him than Brees, and he is the main reason the Colts are undefeated.
Like I said, this one is veeeeeery close.

I think this could be argued either way, The stats between Brees, Favre, And Manning are almost the same,

    QB rating

    Manning-109.3, 2nd

    Brees-107.6,3rd

    Favre-106.0, 4th

    Comp %

    Manning-71.1, 1st

    Brees-68.3, 3rd

    Favre-68.0, 4th

    Yds,

    Manning-2227, 2nd

    Brees-2006, 6th

    Favre-1925, 8th

    TD's

    Manning-15, T-2nd

    Brees-16

    Favre-16

    INT's

    Manning-4

    Brees-6

    Favre-3

    Fumbles lost

    Manning-0

    Brees-3

    Favre-1

    Indy-7-0

    NO-7-0

    Minn-7-1

All three are up there, Ok so I'm a little biased, Favre is 40, and although Rice and Berrian are above average, They aren't Wayne, or Colston.
Even if the Vikings lose, I can still find happiness in Bears, and Packer losses.

    Stats are...well just stats.

I look at it as; who is the most valuable to the team's success?

Manning, Favre and Brees are all very crucial to their teams success.
Take them away and they are nowhere near the team they are now.

    It's a tough call between the 3.
I would have to give the edge to Brees at this point.

i think the Vikings would be 5-3 or 4-4 without Favre honestly. If i had to guess the Saints would be idk 3-4
maybe 2-5. Colts are a tough call without manning

The Vikes would be 13- (-)2 right now if they didn't have Favre.

That being said... It's really close in the MVP thing.
2 months is a long time.

Keep in mind it is voted on by the press.
That's a huge advantage for Favre right there.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Re: Halfway through the season, who is the MVP?

Not halfway through the season until the end of next week. Then every team in the league will be halfway through the season.

At that point it will be fair to vote on this. I venture to say the vote would be a lot different if for some reason the Panthers beat the Saints.
